Breaker Keeps Tripping
A breaker that trips occasionally is doing its job. A breaker that trips repeatedly on the same circuit, won't stay reset, or trips without an obvious load is telling you something is wrong — an overloaded circuit, a failing breaker, or a fault in the wiring. Do not keep resetting it and hoping it stops.
Outlets Not Working
A dead outlet is often simpler than it looks. Check nearby outlets — particularly in bathrooms, kitchens, and garages — for a small reset button between the two plugs. Flickering or Dimming Lights
A single flickering bulb is usually the bulb. Flickering throughout the home, or dimming when a large appliance turns on, points to a wiring issue or a panel that is struggling with the load. Older Twin Cities homes on original wiring are particularly prone to this.
Burning Smell From Outlet, Switch, or Panel

Power out in one area of the house while the rest works normally usually points to a tripped breaker, a failed circuit, or — in older homes — a problem with one leg of the electrical service. If resetting the breaker doesn't restore power, call us.

One of the most common calls we get. A doorbell that stops working is usually a failed transformer, a loose wire at the chime or button, or a worn-out doorbell unit. Rarely serious but consistently annoying.
